I recently had the honor of capturing the proposal of Brendan + Brooklyn.
How it Started
When Brendan first reached out, I began to ask him what was important to him when it came to the proposal. He mentioned wanting to choose a location that is well known in Nashville or Franklin. He talked about the importance of sharing in the excitement of this moment alongside friends and family.
The Vision
Brendan envisioned their proposal in a special place, so he started brainstorming ideas. He knew he wanted it to be somewhere beautiful, so he started thinking about places that were close to his family’s home. That’s when he thought of Steeplechase Park. He knew it would be the perfect place because it is surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills!
Because Brendan’s vision was to incorporate their friends and family into the mix, he planned the beginning of their day to go to Arrington Vineyards with his sister and Brooklyn. From there, they enjoyed the afternoon wine tasting before heading over to Steeplechase.
The Inside Look
Once they arrived at Steeplechase, I was in the field acting as if I was taking pictures of nature. It just so happened that another couple nearby was on a date, painting in the field. Brooklyn thought I was there photographing the other couple! To her surprise, I was there for her!
After Brendan proposed, the couple celebrated with champagne and a mini photoshoot to capture their first moments as fiancés! Once we concluded photos, I fibbed to Brooklyn about leaving so that I could head over to Stoney River where their friends and family were there waiting for them. Brooklyn was totally surprised once they arrived, the two spent the evening celebrating!
